Close Your Eyes(클로즈 유어 아이즈) -ETERNALT 1st Mini Album Thoughts(Kpop)

 

  Close Your Eyes is a South Korean pop boy group that was created from the music survival program called Project 7. I guess the name naked sense there are seven members:

• Jeon Min-wook
• Ma Jingxiang
• Jang Yeo-jun
• Kim Sung-min                                         
  
• Song Seung-ho
• Kenshin
• Seo Kyoung-bae

 

   This program was a global competition which is why you see Chinese, Japanese, and Korean names. Their first Ep was released on April 2 after much delay.

   Close Your Eye's debut is a breath of fresh air currently in this Kpop space that's become a bit dry. The album sounds like the old 2000s Korean pop that grew up on. We get more focus on harmonies and less highlighting beat production. So many popular groups have music that cares more about a catchy bridge more than if their members can actually sing well live or not. I enjoyed that the guy's mini album took a chance on something different. Hearing Eternalt would have you assume that Eyes is a ballad group. When I listened to the first track, I wondered how in the world they would dance to music like this. However, if you watch their music video, they pull off choreography well to RnB ballad tracks. What we have here is defiantly one of the more innovative Kpop releases of spring.  

     

    I'm a little afraid that Close Your Eye's follow up won't be as cool. Sadly, A lot of Boybands try to fall inline with whats popular just to make more money. Let's hope they don't go stale like a lot of Kpop acts out here right now. Still....ENJOY!!!
