Yamato Mori is a Japanese singer that started his career performing guitar covers on Youtube. Most people didn't even know that he could sing until he started working on his album. 69 Jewel Beetle is Mori's debut album under A-Sketch label.

My stumbling among Yamato Mori was a shocking one. I wasn't expecting to find another Japanese artist that's so young but seems like he's been performing for years. His debut shows a lot of versatility in the rock genre. Especially with his guitar playing, which rivals that of other Japan greats such as Fukuyama Masaharu, indie band Goodmoon(formally known as Taro&Jiro), and many more. Mori createds 69 Jewel Beetle with an idea that he's not trying to be the hardest rocking singer songwriter out here. He actually chooses to go the fun creative route instead, mix and matching guitar rifts and playing around with his strum speed. He even experiments with contrasting harmonies to somehow make it all sound well together. The random rap bar always get me every time....
Mori sounds young when he sings.... I mean he was only just born in 2003. However, the charm his vocals brings to his songs completes the full package. His technique of vibrato is like other Japanese singers since, it's a style choice that many Japanese listeners like.
Yamato Mori is one of my favorite singers right now. His album shows the promise for his career in the future. He's only just begun.
